Being as yesterday was Halloween, I figured I’d share a few photos of the kids in their well-thought out costumes… I say well thought out as the super capes did triple duty this year – first was at their super hero birthday party, then at school on Halloween they were to dress up as a favorite book character (surely there is a book about a Super Josh and Super Ryley somewhere out there?), then of course for the main event, at trick-or-treating time.

Unfortunately it was a rainy night – but surprisingly they weren’t phased by the rain as we made the rounds of the Whale Watch neighborhood (where the Cassidy’s used to be).  Perhaps it was the promise of a big bag of candy at the end…?

Jenn’s mom surprised Jenn and I with capes as well, which we wore on our evening excursion.

Ryley was a trooper – she walked nearly the entire way and carried her own candy bag!  (The bag was a personalized mouse bag from Cora & Jon’s family (to match the shark bag they gave Josh last year), which she absolutely loves… she actually slept with it a few nights!)  Of course we helped her near the end when it was getting too heavy for her, but needless to say we were impressed with her stamina.  (Maybe we can use candy to motivate her to do other things… like sleep in her own bed?)

Here’s our buddy Ethan, dressed up as a member of Lightning McQueen’s pit crew… then the ‘money shot’ of our kids with their haul for the night.

And of course, Daddy made a few jack-o-lanterns (Josh-o-lanterns?) with the pumpkins we ‘picked’ from the pumpkin patch last weekend.  Have to admit not a lot of time was spent on the design, but I think they were passable.

Hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween!
