Hard to believe that our little man is already big enough to start going to ‘big school’ (which back in Canada would be the equivalent of Kindergarden)! He’d been excited to start at Warwick Academy all summer… then there ended up being one extra day of waiting due to a big storm that blew through the weekend before what was supposed to be the first official day. So yesterday, he finally got to don the school uniform (yes, those are Bermuda socks he’s sporting with some fancy shoes) and off to school he went!
It was especially fun as he got to ride with me on the bike with his new fancy bike seat and helmet (first day ever)! He enjoyed the ride for sure. (Jenn wasn’t keen on the bike idea but had to relent when we moved to the opposite side of town from his school – logistics dictated that the bike was a go…!)
It’s not often we get to see Ryley by herself in the back of the car with no Josh! Ryley, of course, is still at the BBA. It may be slightly weird for her without Josh going there too, but I’m doubt if it will really phase her at all!
On gym days, the primary kids get to wear their gym strip all day long – stylin’!
The first few days have been good – I’ve been able to tag along into the classroom when dropping him off first thing in the morning to be sure he is ok getting his stuff in the right place. Next week it’s time to step back and just drop him off at the gate! Nothing like diving right in. He’s told me he’ll be ‘just fine’… Mr. cool-as-a-cucumber. We are sure that he will be.
