Well, we did it – we’re now proud puppy owners!  I couldn’t hold Jenn off any longer – she was adamant about getting a dog soon; an opportunity from a local breeder then presented itself, so here we are!  Cooper (formerly known as ‘Boris’) the Labradoodle was one of four puppies in the litter, which were all boys.

We visited the puppies a few times once they were born and were able to take a few pictures.  Here are photos of Cooper and some of his brothers at 3 weeks!  We didn’t know which one we were going to get until the day we picked him up (the breeder made the choice for us), so we didn’t pay any special attention to any particular one really.  Looking back on the photos now, having Cooper, we can see how sometimes it was hard to tell them apart when trying to identify Cooper in the litter.  That said, there were two lighter / straighter-haired puppies and two darker / curlier-haired puppies (of which Cooper was one), plus we’re pretty sure Cooper was the chubby one who liked to lie on his back (as he still is and does)!

Cooper is the middle one below (we think)…

Now the puppies at 5 weeks… getting bigger!

We didn’t personally see the puppies again for a while, but Sacha (our go-to photographer!) was able to do a mini-session with the puppies (as their Dad is actually Sacha’s dog Cairo) at 8 weeks.

And then, at 11 weeks, Cooper came home!  (Yes, to our new home… see a previous post!)  When we picked him up we had just returned from being away on holiday and hadn’t seen the puppies in about 6 weeks – he had nearly doubled in size since we saw him last, to our surprise!  He’s pretty much just a big fluffy teddy bear, of course the kids love him to bits.

Daily accidents in the house plus always escaping his ‘area’ in the house aside, he’s adjusted pretty well so far and is really good with the kids (being our noisy kids who like to bug him all the time).

Here he is, making himself at home!
