It was Race Weekend here in Bermuda, runners from all over the place converged on our little island to participate in one (or three) of the four races offered throughout the weekend.

My super-sporty wife and a few of her super-sporty pals made good on their training and took on the “Triangle Half Challenge”, which involved running three races: the mile on Friday, the 10 km race on Saturday, and a half marathon on Sunday.  I’m tired just thinking about it!  Maybe next year they’ll run the full challenge (substitute a full marathon for the half) just for funzies…!

Jenn met Louise (above, left) through work; she’s from the UK and when on-island on business she and Jenn get together to ride bikes or run.  Louise and her hubby Steve (right) flew in from the UK to work / participate in the race, and of course Jenn’s usual partner-in-crime, Alex, completed the quartet.

The weather is usually a factor during the mile (read: wet and windy), luckily for all involved it turned out to be a fairly decent evening.  By all accounts everyone had fun, it was a pretty party-like atmosphere on Front Street; the streets were lined with people cheering, drinks in hand.  Jenn and crew didn’t do much one-mile specific training, but it didn’t matter as they all did really well anyway (see their results at the bottom).

The 10K on Saturday morning also went well, the fab four all turned in sub-54 minute performances!  Jenn rocked her fancy pink socks for this one, makes her easy to spot from far away!

The rain just wouldn’t hold off Sunday, luckily for everyone running it was just a nice refreshing sprinkle most of the way.  I took the kids out to catch Supermom in a few spots along the course, they had fun cheering her (and Alex!) on from under the umbrella.  Jenn was clearly happy to see them!

Alex had fun too (and no, she wasn’t being chased unknowingly by some scary dude…)!

Finished!!  Successfully completed the half triangle!

Here’s Jenn showing off her hard-earned hardware!  The kids and I are so proud of you!
