As Josh says, “Hoppy” Easter, everyone! As per usual, there were lots of things happening around here for Easter besides having hot cross buns and codfish cakes for multiple meals a day. For example, Josh’s class at school was having a little Easter contest, the kids could make cards or a poster or a flower arrangement among other things. Josh decided to make some Easter cards, and did a great job, he got a 3rd place prize (which was chocolate, which he shared)! Ryley of course made her own poster with a similar theme…
Around here, kite flying is probably as synonymous with Easter as a certain bunny who lays chocolate eggs… Josh’s school had a kite flying day a few days before the big kite day on Good Friday. Josh’s Spiderman kite got a workout, the winds were a-blowin’! Ryley wasn’t too interested in flying a kite, at the Warwick Academy event she just chased around a few boys she knew from Josh’s soccer (oh, no – here we go!).
Of course, we went down to the beach on Good Friday (as is tradition) – unfortunately it wasn’t nearly as warm as it usually is this time of year, it’s probably the first time ever we were down there in jeans and jackets for our annual kite flying adventure! It was still fun, though – Jenn got Ryley a cute butterfly kite and ended up just flying it herself for a bit as Roo wasn’t interested still and Josh’s kite flying days were over after his kite was torn by a few big gusts of wind!
The rest of Good Friday was spend napping (girls) and playing Lego (boys)…
Easter Sunday of course brought a virtual avalanche of chocolate with a few small gifts, too! Spoiled kids!
The kids were really good during the Easter egg hunt in the living room – might have to tell the Easter Bunny to hide those eggs a little better next year!
A few friends dropped by for brunch and were treated to an Easter egg hunt of their own, as set up by the kids!
Time to wear off some of that chocolate… to the trampoline!
Here’s hoping this is the first day of a nice warm spring! We’re tired of winter over here (don’t say it, Canadians…) Hope you had a Happy Easter!
