Today Josh took part in his first Sports Day at Warwick Academy!  Jenn and I were able to take a few hours off work to pop over to watch.  It was pretty cool to see all these kids in one place with their uniforms on in their house colors!

Let’s play “Where’s Joshua Giraffe”!

They had seven different events, each class went around to each in order and the kids received points for first, second, and third place in each event for their respective house.  Josh is in Rhodes (the red house), which worked out as it’s his favorite color!

On your mark, get set… GO!!

The kids did two long sprint races near the end – I believe they said it was 80 meters – the first race was one length and the second race, run soon after, was two lengths!  I think they were trying to tire them out!  ;0)

Josh did pretty well today, he had lots of fun and his best finish was a 2nd place in the egg balancing race.  His best event he saved for last – it was basically tee-ball!  Each kid had two hits to see who could hit the furthest, there were lines on the ground that indicated a point value.  He smacked that tennis ball good and far for his team!

When all the results were tallied, the Rhodes team came out on top by a few hundred points (seven hundred and something points to the second place team’s total of five hundred something…)!

Hooray for sports day at Warwick Academy!
