Well, here it is!  Josh’s birthday is upon us!  He (we!) had a very busy weekend celebrating Josh’s 7th birthday!

Jenn started off by sending in cupcakes with him on Friday to celebrate with his class.  I’m sad to say that I didn’t get a single one… 🙁

Josh’s birthday was on a Saturday, which makes it extra convenient for us to celebrate with him all day!  A surprise guest showed up overnight and was waiting for Josh on Saturday morning… apparently he was allowed by Santa to come for a quick birthday visit, on the condition he wears this ridiculous outfit.

With a few minutes to spare before our usual Saturday football practice, we might as well open some presents!

Then off to football we went…

Of course Jenn had to get in on the Lego fun (of course he got some Lego for his birthday!).

Saturday afternoon / evening was party time!  He had 5 of his friends come over for a sleepover party, I think they all had a great time.  We led off with a little game of football, in which the kids absolutely crushed me.

Here’s the gang:

And this is how kids play video games these days… where are the controllers?!

A delicious, healty dinner of broccoli and brussels sprouts followed… (ok, it was pizza!)

Ryley was there, too – she wanted to join in the fun like last year (this year she kept her shirt on, thank goodness).

Some more football after supper…

Then some cake and a movie to round out the evening.  Whew!

Pancakes and bacon for breakfast, followed by the opening of the boys’ presents…

And that was it for the party!  It was lots of fun for the boys, they were all very well behaved and polite, a good little group of kids.  Not to say that we didn’t enjoy a little peace and quiet after the party was over!

The rest of Sunday was fairly chilled, Josh wanted to play with his new toys at home for a bit, so we did that before heading to Tucker’s Point for a little swim and then Harbourfront for some sushi dinner (Josh’s choice!).

Josh had a great birthday weekend, he had lots of fun!  Thanks of course to all his buddies for the gifts and for coming over to celebrate!  Until next year…
