Back at the end of September, Jenn and I attended (with a few friends) a fundraiser “Beach Bash” for the Family Center that was held on the Southampton Princess beach. It was a fun night – good dinner, a few cocktails, etc. They had a silent auction – Jenn was intrigued by a few of the prizes and ended up bidding on a few. Lo and behold, she actually ‘won’ the prize donated by Dolphin Quest for a Discover Dolphins package!
So, after Josh’s first soccer game and Ryley’s usual gymnastics and ballet / tap classes, we took the long drive across the country to Dockyard.
The Dolphin Discovery was for all four of us – here we are with the two trainers that assisted us. Basically the package entailed us getting on a shallow ledge in the water and interacting directly with the dolphin(s) for about 20 minutes.
Yes, they liked to splash – but mostly Jenn, as it turned out!

The kids loved it, Jenn and I loved it – though the 20 minutes sure flew by! Overall, a great experience. They really are amazing creatures!
(In case you’re wondering, we purchased pictures taken by their photographer – one option is to get all the picture files taken put on a disc… this I liked as I could do a little of my own post-processing on their photos!)
