Jenn’s off to London for a week for work – she left on Friday – so I’ve got the kiddies for a week on my own! It just so happened that we had no plans for the whole weekend and were lucky to have plenty of sunshine so the three of us had some adventures!
Josh has been taking part in the kids’ triathlon group, the Tri-Hedz, on Saturday mornings; typically Jenn would bring him out, so today Ryley and I had the honors. Ryley brought her bike for some practice during Josh’s session.
Ryley was being funny and trying to follow Josh around while he was training, but she got her turn to hang with him before it was time to go!
We zipped back to town for Ryley’s dance class, then Josh had the idea to go and check out Fort Hamilton in town before heading home for lunch. I think they’ve been learning about some of Bermuda’s forts in school, he was quite keen to go! It was a pretty cool place to hang out for bit.
Nice views of town…
But our day wasn’t over yet, no sir! We still had an afternoon to kill so we went out to Southampton to the driving range and took in the mini golf as well. The kids were hitting the ball pretty well!
Can’t leave after golfing without a little refreshment! That was all for the day – home to supper, movies, and bed.
The next day brought more adventures! I figured that we hadn’t been out bike riding for a while, so I packed up the new car with our bikes & snacks and went out to Ferry Reach for a little trail riding and exploring.
(Yikes! Don’t fall in!)
Another lovely day in Bermuda…
Ryley is still getting the hang of riding a bike on her own, and the trails are a little bumpy for her to ride (we have a tag-along that is attached to my bike for her) – so we went to Clearwater where they have a huge paved parking lot, perfect for practicing.
A little further down the road is Tucker’s Point, where we cooled off in the pool and had some lunch.
The kids were really good for me all weekend, and I promised them Bailey’s ice cream if they were good, so it was two scoops for each of them and then back home to rest up for the long school week ahead!
Hope Mom is having fun in London cause we’re making the most of our time here!
