Wow, our little guy isn’t so little anymore!  He’s 9 years old today, we had a little celebration with a M&M brownie cake & ice cream tonight after having his birthday party this past weekend.

Laser tag is the party theme of the day (year?) (I can’t even count how many LT parties he’s been to in the last year or so, it’s all the rage!), he was set on having one as well this year.  He invited around 20 of his friends out to Admiralty Park to get their laser on.

Ryley tagged along – she didn’t want to play but definitely enjoyed putting the camouflage makeup on (and taking it off and putting it on again)!

As you can see, the field of battle at the upper portion of Admiralty Park is dominated by an old dilapidated building – complete with graffiti – which is actually pretty cool for a backdrop for this sort of thing.  Surround it with a bunch of old walls, overgrown trees & bushes with plenty of paths and places to hide and you’ve got a pretty sweet place for some laser tag.

Managed to get the group together for a photo!  Give them each a gun – what a bunch of characters!

Time for cake (donuts!) and the traditional birthday song, as belted out by Freddie (in front) and the rest of the crew…  All in all a fun party and as well-behaved a big group of boys that you could hope for!  (Whew!)

On to today, his actual birthday… Jenn had arranged for a new soccer net to be delivered to the house earlier, I had put it together and surprised him with it when we arrived home from school.  He was pretty excited, Ryley was also happy to indulge him with a few shots on his new net while I made his requested dinner, tacos (it is taco Tuesday, after all!).

Cake time – make a wish!

You’ve come a long way, dude…

Happy birthday to you, Mr. 9-year-old Josh!
