Another football (soccer) season has come and gone for young Joshua!  There were a good number of boys (with a few girls) in the 9-10 age group this year, ultimately the coaches at Warwick Academy decided to split them up into three teams this year as opposed to the usual two.  Basically this meant that every game there were only a few (if any) subs and they got a lot of playing time!

Rain or shine, the games go on!

This year saw Josh really improve his skills and become one of the leaders of the team.

He didn’t get a ton of goals this year, but by the last few games of the season he found his groove and was getting a goal or two per game!  All throughout the season, though, he was setting up teammates and playing a solid game – helping out on the defending side as well as the offensive side.
Even managed to get in a few bicycle kicks which impressed the fans watching!

His stellar play on the field throughout the season enabled Coach Gordon to pick him for the Kappa Classic tournament team on the ‘A’ side for Warwick, an honor!

A great season of growth for our little man, I love going to watch him play!  Now it’s off to play in the Kappa Classic and then a nice break for the summer before next season starts in September.  Until then…!
