Happy Easter, everyone!  ‘Twas another fun-filled holiday with the Wilsons, with plenty of kite-flying, fish cake eating, egg-hunting festivities.

Mid-week we did the usual kite flying with the kids at Warwick Academy, there was a good stiff (cold!) breeze going which made it pretty easy to get the kite up in the air.  They smartly split up the kids into two groups this year (years 1-3 and years 4-6), which gave us a little more space to move around on the field with fewer tangles.

Good Friday had us making the usual trip to the beach with our new store-bought kite to catch the breeze.

Jenn and Ryley (and little friend Elise) made a cute little sand bunny, while Josh and some of his friends made some sort of military installation, as boys do.

After our beach fun we went back to the Fascione’s place to eat our fill of fish cakes on hot cross buns plus Suzy’s famous honey-baked ham, and as an added bonus we got to throw some water balloons at the kids!  A nice relaxing afternoon was had.

Saturday started with a rather windy Easter fair and lunch at Tucker’s Point, the highlight being the egg hunt on the driving range at the golf course.  It’s always fun to watch the kids hurtle themselves down the hill on the way out to the main part of the range, the bigger kids like Josh end up running all the way to the far end of the field to fill up their baskets.

Later that afternoon we checked into the Southampton Princess Hotel for an overnight stay.  There were lots of activities going on at the hotel, we kept ourselves busy!  We started with tea / snacks then a cooking demonstration by the hotel chefs – I barely had room for dinner after a few bowls of fish chowder, a few fish cakes, and some Johnny bread!

Josh and I did a quick half-hour putting demo and picked up a few drills to try at home to improve our already-stellar putting skills (ha!).

The kids enjoyed the view before dinner at Jasmine lounge – followed by dessert out on the north lawn, s’mores by the fire!

The kids had a nice surprise Easter Sunday morning as the Easter bunny seems to have found them in our hotel room!  (Funnily enough, so did the Tooth Fairy, as Ryley managed to pull out a tooth earlier in the day!)

We wandered down to the kids’ third egg hunt of the holiday and happened upon some impressive kites at the hotel… not sure if anyone tried to fly them!

The kids came away with more chocolate goodness and then we headed back inside to sit down to an amazing brunch!  I think they have nearly everything you could imagine, it was hard to stop eating.  Honestly.

Finally we rounded out our stay with a quick pony ride (Ryley) / games room (Josh) and then hit the pool for a few hours before heading home late in the afternoon.

Hope everyone had as fun an Easter as we did!
