Go Jenn Go!

Bermuda once again played host to an ITU World Triathlon series race for the second year running. This was the second of four annual races to be held in Bermuda for the series, the race in 2021 being the Grand Final. Last year‘s race went well – Bermuda’s own Flora Duffy had a storybook race, taking the victory; this year would be different in that respect, however, as Flora was sidelined with injury and unable to compete. That didn’t stop her from taking part in the relay event, however, much to the delight of fans and age-groupers alike. It’s not everyday you get to be on the same race course as a world-class triathlete as she leaves you in her dust!

Go Jo Go!

Jenn was extra busy this year during race week. She volunteered to be a ‘TO’ (technical official) again this year, but contrary to last year she found the time to actually do the age-group Olympic distance triathlon as well, the same day of the elite races she was due to officiate! Who needs R&R anyway, I guess…? She did well and had a great race, coming in at 2:48:45 – good for 6th of 28 in her age group and 15th of 60 women overall. Josh was also up for competing in the kids race on Friday night, he had a good race too!

Our favorite Canadian triathlete Jo (Joanna Brown) was back in town as well, we were happy to be able to host her again for the week leading up to the race. Jo seems to like the Bermuda course – last year she finished 10th and this year she improved her result with a fantastic 3rd place finish! We were so happy for her! We’ve self-proclaimed ourselves as her ‘good luck charms’ as she seems to do well when we’re in attendance (I’ll add she finished 3rd in the Australia Commonwealth games in 2018 while we were there… though we hadn’t met her yet it still counts). Here’s hoping she’ll be back again in 2020!
