Hangin’ with the girls

Well, it’s official – Ryley is now in the double digits! The big one-oh! Hard to believe, I know.

Her birthday happened to be on a Saturday at the end of a week off school this year, so a Friday night sleepover was in order! It was loosely themed as an art party, starting off with a scavenger hunt around the neighborhood to find their art supplies stashed in various spots. The five girls made short work of it and had fun coloring their busy bags for a while after returning to the house. Then on to gift opening followed by Ryley’s special-request Rustico’s pizza for dinner and rainbow doughnuts for dessert… mmm! The rest of the evening was just them chillin’ in the living room and chatting until late, think they finally settled for the night shortly after 11. With morning came a big actual-birthday-day breakfast for everyone before going home.

As is now tradition, Jenn rented a Twizy for Ryley’s birthday to zip around in. I personally prefer our regular car (with windows and a stereo!) but to each their own I suppose! They spent some time zooming around in the little electric car after we went pumpkin picking for Halloween, we eventually made it home after dinner at friends for a few more gifts to open before bedtime! We saved her official birthday dinner until Sunday night and went out to eat at House of India (now also a tradition)!

So happy 10th birthday to our happy, spunky, sweet (and occasionally frustrating!) daughter, we love you!
