Festival of Lights

The Christmas season in Bermuda this year was a fairly typical one, nice and low-key & relaxed, which is how it should be!

We maintained several annual traditions include the ‘tree hunt’ at a local nursery at the end of November, Lego advent calendars (and a beer one for me this year!) the office Christmas parties (Jenn’s at Tucker’s Point and mine at Mad Hatters this year), the Lancashire kids’ party (complete with a visit from Santa), the Santa Claus parade, and making a big puzzle or two. Of course there is also the beach after gift opening on Christmas morning and Christmas dinner takeout turkey with friends, courtesy of the Hamilton Princess! (Fake) ice skating has also made it’s way into the ‘tradition’ roster these last couple years. Eddie the Elf still comes to hang out for the month as well.

Merry Christmas!

Also, in what has become a new tradition – and it may be one of our faves – is the last few years we’ve enjoyed seeing the new Star Wars movie at the theatre; this year was no different, which makes three years in a row now (and there should be one more next year…)!

One break from the norm was that we decided to hit Big White for some skiing before Christmas this year, a nice change of pace! We left just over a week before Christmas and returned Christmas eve, so we got the best of all that is Christmas in Bermuda plus some Canadian Christmas fun too!

Hope everyone had a safe and super Christmas and Happy New Year this year!
