A Unicorpia of giggly girls!
Little miss Ryley Roo is now 9 years old! Nine! We are now officially on the cusp of having two children in the double-digits – yikes! One thing is for sure – you’re never too old for unicorns, as was the theme for Ryley’s party this year.
In unusual fashion, we managed to have Ryley’s party before her actual birthday, which I’m not sure if we’ve done since the kids stopped having their combination birthday parties (fact-check, please). Unicorn headbands, unicorn cake, unicorn crafts, unicorn piñata, and even a unicorn dog (Cooper also had a headband)… everything was very uni-corny. Or rather, unicorn-a-rific! 😉 Ryley opted for a sleepover with three friends this year (yes, she does sleepovers now!). After some activities and some fancy Rustico pizza, they dug into the unicorn cake, then (post-sugar high) chilled out with a movie. Ryley liked how Josh has his sleepovers in the living room so she did the same with her friends, making use of the whole couch and a mattress on the floor. The chatty girls didn’t say up too late… 😉 Pancake breakfast in the morning with some candy afterwards (they wisely waited until after eating to destroy the unicorn piñata), and that was a wrap! Good party, let’s do it again next year!
Her actual birthday was on the Friday after her party, and as a special treat Grandma & Grandpa Boys just so happened to be flying in for a visit on that very day! Our party of six went to House of India for dinner on Ryley’s request, but only after Jenn had picked Ryley up from school in a Twizy for a fun tour! (The Twizy rental on her birthday is fast becoming tradition.) Back to ours for some more cake (still working on the cake from Ryley’s party at this point), then movie and bed!
A fun birthday week for sure, it was a good one. Happy birthday, sweetheart!
